Amazon Bursary Description
Amazon is a multi-national company specializing in ecommerce across the globe.
Amazon bursary offers South African citizens the opportunity to develop a diverse talent pipeline for the company in the country. Successful applicants will be funded until they complete their qualifications and will then be considered for a position at Amazon. Bursary beneficiaries are recruited through the Graduates Development Programme.
The Amazon bursary is awarded in partnerships with Study Trust organisation. Study trust is a national bursary distribution (studytrust.org.za). StudyTrust, on behalf of Amazon, is inviting current first year and second year students in Computer Science and Information Technology degree programmes (including the relevant Engineering programmes) at South African universities to apply for the Amazon Development Centre bursary.
This opportunity is for students of exceptional ability in the field of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and IT-related fields who see themselves in future as developers at one of the world’s leading companies in the field.
Amazon Bursary Eligibility Criteria
South Africa students who wish to apply must satisfy the following minimum bursary criteria before applying:
- All applicants must be South African citizen
- You must possess strong academic and leadership potential
- Achieved a minimum result of 75% for Mathematics and English in Matric
- Achieved an overall average above 65% at tertiary institution
What Does Amazon Bursary Cover?
Successful applicants will have the following cost paid for by the bursary in 2023 academic year:
- tuition fees
- accommodation at the residence / private accommodation
- subsistence
- stationery and books allowance
- a personal computer
- transport fares where applicable
Who Can Apply?
If you are a South African student and you wish to pursue qualifications that are listed below, you are the target recipient for this bursary programme for 2023
Undergraduate Qualifications:
- Computer Science or Engineering and Information Technology
- Bachelor of Commerce (specialising in Accounting and Finance)
- Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical / Mechatronics / Civil Engineering.
Year level: First to final year students.
Postgraduate Qualifications:
Honours or Post Graduate Diploma and Masters Degree in:
- Computer Science or Engineering and Information Technology
- Bachelor of Commerce (specialising in Accounting and Finance)
- Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical / Mechatronics / Civil Engineering.
Applicants with Disabilities:
Undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in all study Programmes.
Academic achievement:
- Current Grade/Matric 12 learners with Mathematics and Physical Science marks of 75% and above.
- Current university students who are consistently obtaining an average of 65% and above.
